About Brandon
Bellingham RE/MAX Realtor the Year 2008
Realtor of the Month, May and October 2009
Realtor of the Month, May and October 2009
Imagine you’re given a blank sheet of paper to write down ALLLLL the qualifications, skills and experiences you’d like your ideal Realtor to possess, as if that Realtor had spent the last decade-and-a-half acquiring those exact skills, and then magically appeared to serve you.
You’re in luck.
1) “I’d like my Realtor to have spent 8 years as a builder, so he really knows how houses are put together, and can give me plenty of general advice on what can be done to a house?
Done. From 1996 to 2004 I was a carpenter, then a State-licensed General Contractor. I have experience doing everything from pouring foundations to framing to roofing to fine woodwork. I LOVE consulting on projects large and small.
2) “I’d like my Realtor to have been a professional, State-licensed home inspector, and have completed at LEAST 500 inspections in Whatcom County!”
Done. From January 2004 to May of 2007 I was a WSDA-licensed home inspector right here in Whatcom County. I’ve spent more time on my belly under houses, crawling around on roofs, and poking around with a flashlight and a screwdriver, than most people will spend maintaining their home throughout their entire lifetime.
Don’t misunderstand me: When you tie up a house with an offer I’m still going to insist you hire a 3rd party inspector, but my knowledge can go a long way in helping you decide what’s involved with a house long before you ever get to the offer or inspection phase.
3) I’d like my Realtor to have a proven track record in the business before I ever interview him, so I know he can get the job done.
Done. In my 2nd full-time year in the business (2008) I achieved the ranking of #1 RE/MAX Realtor in Bellingham, having helped more sellers and buyers meet their real estate goals than over 60 other agents. My listings sold in an average of 1/3 the time on market compared to Bellingham listings overall. And in 2009, I’m on track to have an even better year. So Yes, the results are there.
4) I’d like my Realtor to have experience in professional communications, both written and verbal.
Done. Real Estate is a ‘communications business.’ For years I’ve written for publication, have two magazine cover photos (and cover stories, along with numerous other features) to my credit, and have been a paid motivational speaker for organizations like United Way of Whatcom County and Mt. Baker Red Cross.
Related to real estate, when it comes to sharing your house with the world through photographs, video and narrative text, to in-person communication with buyers and other agents, to keeping you consistently updated about the activity on your house, or informing you about new listings that fit your buying criteria… the golden rule of real estate for EVERYONE involved is this:
“The Quality of our Communication determines the Quality of our Relationship, and Ultimately the Success of Reaching the Goal.”
And there’s more…
I’m happy to share my other qualifications with you as well, such as my treasured list of proven referrals for all your needs with lending, insurance, accounting or financial planning, construction or repair work orders… right down to a house cleaner, pet hotel or massage therapist — I’ve got someone who can help.
E-mail or call me today and let’s meet face to face to talk about your real estate goals and how I can help.
